Server automation and virtualization software provider SWsoft (swsoft.com) announced on Wednesday that it had launched the Virtuozzo Enterprise Starter Pack, a turnkey virtualization package for businesses exploring operating system virtualization.
Aimed not at Web hosts, but at enterprise virtualization customers, the $1,198 Virtuozzo Starter Pack enables new users to try out OS virtualization technology for small server consolidation projects or pilot deployments. The software, available for Windows and Linux, enables up to four virtual environments and can be downloaded, installed and up and running in minutes, says the company.
The Virtuozzo Starter Pack comes with the full capabilities of the platform, including VZP2V, the physical-to-virtual tool that enables easy migration from a dedicated physical server to a Virtuozzo virtual server and a management toolset for the Starter Pack server. It also provides a simple upgrade path to the full Virtuozzo product.
