Scottsdale, Arizona - (Cheap Web Hosting Directory) - March 30, 2007 - Domain registrar and web hosting firm, GoDaddy.com, has selected its Girl Friday, after close to 100 women auditioned for the opportunity. Marisa Peck was awarded $2500, a professional photo shoot and the chance to be in a GoDaddy.com TV commercial.
Selected by the company’s CEO and Founder Bob Parsons, who also served as Emcee for the contest, the event took place in a packed Arizona Bike Week gathering at the Hacienda Harley-Davidson® 10th Annual Kickstart Party in Scottsdale. Mr. Parson remarked, “I’m thrilled. A friend told me about the contest a couple days ago and I thought it sounded like fun, so I decided to try it. Sometimes you discover the greatest treasures right in your own backyard. With so many great choices, it wasn’t easy selecting our winner. Remember, this is about more than just looks. This is about being edgy, racy and even a touch inappropriate. Marisa is definitely all that. She’s GoDaddy-esque!”
To compete, contestants donned the infamous Go Daddy tank top, posed for photos and shared their most GoDaddy-esque experience. The women came from all over, listing hometowns from New York to Seattle to Miami and even New Zealand.
Scottsdale-based GoDaddy.com is the world’s undisputed leader in domain name registrations and gained notoriety for its risqué commercials. Parsons selected the first Go Daddy Girl, Candice Michelle, in a national talent search in 2004. He defied advisers by selecting a brunette. Then a virtual unknown, Ms. Michelle went on to receive massive media attention after being featured in what has been called the most controversial and successful Super Bowl® ad in television history.
Ms. Michelle, also a WWE Raw Wrestling entertainer, has since acted in several productions and sizzled her way onto the cover of Playboy magazine. As Go Daddy Girl - Scottsdale 2007, Marisa gets the $2500 cash and the chance to officially join Ms. Michelle, IndyCar driver Danica Patrick and motorcycle drag-racing star Valerie Thompson, as a spokeswoman for the company.
Ms. Michelle and Ms. Thompson were at Parsons’ side for the contest, along with Lara Haworth who was recently named Go Daddy Girl – Daytona 2007. GoDaddy.com is planning its next audition in August during the Bike Week celebration in Sturgis, South Dakota . At year's end, one of the three Bike Week winners will emerge with the coveted and much sought-after Go Daddy Girl 2007 title, earning a shot at an acting slot Parsons may offer in his next Super Bowl ad.
