Houston, Texas - (The Hosting News) - March 28, 2007 - Privately held dedicated hosting company, The Planet, has created the position of Vice President for Global Sales and Managed Services, appointing James P. Treuting, reporting to Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Douglas J. Erwin.
Mr. Treuting will hold cross-functional responsibilities for sales strategy and development; channel and reseller management; customer service; technical support; call center operations; and professional services. Reporting to Mr. Treuting are Vice President of Sales Kris Hansen and Vice President of Customer Contact James P. Picone.
Mr. Erwin commented, “Jimmy Treuting brings to The Planet extensive industry experience, and a broad sales and service background, from some of the industry’s leading organizations. At The Planet, he will lead our customer-facing operations, with the goal of setting new standards for excellence and accelerating customer satisfaction. Prior to joining The Planet, Mr. Treuting spent more than eight years with Nippon Telephone and Telegraph (NTT) and Verio, which was acquired by NTT. In a series of increasingly responsible roles, he served as President of three divisions, including network services, global sales and broadband. Mr. Treuting held full profit and loss responsibility for operations and product lines, as well as sales, customer care, hosting services, engineering and billing.
He additionally served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Communiqué, a regional Internet Service Provider start-up company that focused on business connectivity and associated ancillary services. After three years of successful operations, the company was acquired by Verio. Additional experience also includes more than eight years with IBM in channel marketing and sales. Mr. Treuting, a Louisiana native, earned a B.B.A. degree in business from Loyola University in New Orleans.
