New York, New York - (The Hosting News) - February 1, 2007 - Enterprise hosting, network, and IP networking firm, NTT America, a U.S. subsidiary of NTT Communications, has been certified for its Enterprise Hosting division, with a Statement on Auditing Standards No. 70 (SAS 70) Type II, SysTrust, and Safe Harbor.
The adherence to Safe Harbor Privacy Policy assures that customers' personal information is never transferred or used without their permission in accordance with the United States Department of Commerce, in consultation with the European Commission's Directive on Data Protection.
The Sarbanes-Oxley Act requires that publicly held companies prove that they have controls in place to ensure a secure environment for data, and SAS 70 offers NTT America customers the assurance of the existence of these controls. Both SAS 70 and SysTrust are third party validated certifications that ensure effective operational controls and system availability respectively, while the Safe Harbor certification provides for the protection of customer privacy.

For SAS 70, Type II certification, the independent examination performed by Ernst and Young, LLP, found NTT America's controls are suitably designed, in place and complied with to meet SAS 70 requirements. The auditor's report is issued through guidance established by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), which puts the highest scrutiny on a company's controls and processes.
The SysTrust certification symbolizes that NTT America has been examined by an independent accountant, Ernst and Young LLP, and conform to the Availability Trust Services Principle(s) and Criteria, an international set of principles and criteria for systems.
