Host Depot Announces Advanced E-commerce Offering

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. -- November 10, 2003 -- Host Depot, Inc. (a privately held company), today announced it is offering an advanced, dedicated e-commerce service for midsize and large corporations.

Host Depot has completed building a proprietary e-commerce framework using Java and Oracle technologies. The Advanced Commerce Platform offers high-end features that can be assembled together to create a custom e-commerce solution in a relatively short period of time. The ACP uses Java and an Oracle back-end to support large transaction volumes.

Precise pricing was not announced. "I cannot comment on pricing except to say that these solutions are in the six figures. We are talking about custom e-commerce solutions built on top of an extremely robust J2EE architecture with built-in scalability and transactional integrity. The building block approach we are taking means time to market is short, but the quality of the end product is very high and very focused on the customer's needs," said George Garcia, Director of E-Commerce, adding "We are working on some intricate financing deals with our customers to bring them this exciting technology".

This new e-commerce offering opens the door for us to sell to large corporations we don't currently reach with our Merchant Wizard product", said Mark Erskine, President & CEO of Host Depot. Merchant Wizard is a highly configurable, hosted e-commerce solution offered by Host Depot to small businesses.

Customer facing features of the platform include promotions (percent off, amount off, fixed value, buy one get one), coupons, gift certificates, customer login and profile management, payment processing, tax calculation, fraud detection and prevention, up-sells, cross-sells, featured items, best sellers, personalized content delivery. Back-end features include complete order management, messaging services (JMS), complex business scenarios, targeted emails, advanced analytics and reporting.

Additional services are also offered including systems integration with most large-scale warehouse and inventory management systems, implementation planning, and platform training.
