Hostway Launches Next Generation FlexCloud Server; First Public Cloud Platform on Windows Server 2012 R2
Platform Upgrade Modernizes Cloud Services Strategy, Improves Scalability,
Agility and Flexibility
CHICAGO, IL - November 6, 2013 - Hostway, a leading provider of cloud, managed
and hybrid hosting services, made a major platform upgrade announcement at the
ad:tech digital marketing conference at the Javits Center in New York City
today: Hostway’s popular public cloud platform has upgraded to Microsoft’s
System Center and Windows Server 2012 R2, providing all Hostway customers with a
more scalable, agile and flexible infrastructure while significantly expanding
partner capabilities with the most modern cloud-services delivery platform on
the market.
Hostway first launched its FlexCloud Server offering in November 2011 on
Microsoft’s Hyper-V. It quickly grew to the largest publicly available Hyper-V
Cloud and in 2011 Hostway was named Microsoft’s Hyper-V Partner of the Year.
Hostway has worked closely with Microsoft to create a cloud solution that meets
the needs of fast-growth SMBs as well as large enterprises. The result of this
collaboration is a cloud solution that reduces complexity and costs for users,
and displays Hostway’s commitment to creating equal access to scalable,
redundant cloud technologies for companies of all sizes.
Windows Server 2012 R2 is designed to realize Microsoft’s vision for Cloud OS, a
hybrid cloud solution that helps enterprises transform their current
infrastructure to gain greater agility and cost savings with a flexible cloud
solution that fully meets current business requirements while supporting future
growth. Hostway’s future announcements on replication, BCDR and Private Cloud
enhancements will all closely align Hostway to Microsoft’s Cloud OS, and more
importantly, the expectations of cloud users for resilient, geographically
dispersed cloud resources.
“It’s a more modern approach to infrastructure management,” noted Mike Robski,
Hostway Vice President of Research and Development. 'A cloud services model
powered by System Center and Windows Server 2012 R2 helps organizations
accelerate innovation and improve application performance today while future-
proofing their enterprise with the latest technologies from Microsoft and
Hostway, both recognized as industry leaders.”
Cloud consumer surveys continue to show that a channel-distributed approach to
cloud computing delivery is a critical contributor to anticipated growth.
Hostway’s announcement this year with Parallels, coupled with this platform
upgrade, is an example of Hostway’s commitment to the growing cloud resellers
market. VARs, Integrators, SaaS organizations and others can easily wrap cloud-
based services from FlexCloud Server into their core services to provide an
unparalleled, Always-On experience for their end users, customers and partners.
Next generation platform users will experience increased levels of scalability,
performance and quicker deployment times. The upgrade also enables delivery of
superior data analysis capabilities through SQL 2012. Using Hostway’s Windows
Server 2012 R2 public cloud platform, IT professionals can more rapidly build,
implement and manage both linux and windows applications.
Hostway is showcasing its Microsoft System Center and Windows Server 2012 R2
public cloud platform upgrade and new Cloud OS capabilities at the ad:tech
digital marketing conference on November 6-7, 2013 at the Javits Center in New
York City. Early adopters will receive their first 30 days of service free. For
